Welcome to the Texas Consilium Business Excellence Awards

Since 2019, the Texas Consilium Business Excellence Award identifies Texas businesses that exemplify excellence in all aspectsof their operations. From trailblazers to established enterprises, we look for Texas businesses that expand and challenge traditional boundaries, commit to a journey of continual improvement, and serve as role models to inspire other Texas businesses to pursue their own journeys to business excellence.

The Most Prestigious Annual Award for Business Excellence in the State of Texas!

The Texas Consilium Business Excellence Award has been established to help Texans expand their vision of what is possible. Best practices often come from other businesses, in other industries, as a result of different perspectives. As we identify Texas businesses and leaders who are on a continuous improvement journey, we want to recognize their efforts – not only as an award for what they have accomplished, but to establish role models for lessons learned and to inspire others to improve and pursue their own journey of excellence.

The Texas Consilium Business Excellence Award doesn’t just look at top-line revenue; it also analyzes and assesses the individual path toward operational excellence to which each organization has committed itself. Many companies are financially healthy and very good at generating significant annual revenues. The Business Excellence Award process, however, takes into consideration the holistic enterprise and its journey to improving not only itself but the greater Texas economy as well.

The seven criteria used in the selection of Business Excellence awardees comprise the following:

Senior leaders communicate mission, values, and strategy to employees, partners, suppliers, and customers. Provide a clear vision for the future ensuring sustainable policies & practices.

Company exhibits good corporate stewardship, providing a safe workplace for employees, a positive environmental effect on the local community, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Company effectively uses voice of the customer to evaluate market requirements throughout the customer lifecycle. Uses innovation to drive product design, speed to market, and measurement of customer satisfaction, engagement, and retention.

Organization demonstrates effective process management, continuous improvement, and lean implementation. Addresses data collection & data analytics in product design, manufacturing, and delivery.

Company excels in its design of job requirements, recruiting policies & processes, and training, continuing education, and employee retention programs. Communicates broadly the method & frequency of measuring employee satisfaction.

Corporate scorecards are used to measure performance in key business areas including customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, operational performance, corporate stewardship, and financial performance relative to peers.

PLEASE NOTE: Minimum annual revenues are $10 million, and evaluations will be stratified by company size up to the no-limit $1 Billion + level. There are no industry restrictions. Texas-based businesses are preferred, although consideration will be given to businesses with a significant Texas presence which includes key Texas leadership.
